What Is Store Credit and How Does It Work?
Store credit is money in your Indexync account that pays your Indexync plan and add-on bills for you. You earn it when someone you referred to Indexync starts a paid plan. Switching from monthly to annual billing can also add credit. Your balance shows in the Store credit section on the Billing page. It is used automatically on your charges, starting with your first plan purchase, and your card pays only what is left. You can turn that off with the Automatically apply to my bills switch. Credit left after a bill stays in your balance for the next one.
Applies to: all paid-plan sellers billed by card through Indexync. If you are billed through Shopify, see If You Are Billed Through Shopify. Store credit pays Indexync bills only. It is not paid out as cash.
How Do I Earn Store Credit?
There are two ways credit reaches your balance.
- A referral. When someone you referred starts a paid plan, you get a reward as store credit. The amount depends on the plan they chose.
- A switch from monthly to annual billing. If the months you have already prepaid are worth more than the annual price, the difference is added to your balance. Why Did Switching to Annual Add Store Credit? has the details.
Where Do I See My Store Credit?
Open Billing from your profile menu at the top of the screen, or the sidebar menu on your phone, and find the Store credit section. Its heading shows your available balance, and every credit added or used is listed underneath with the date it happened (Awarded on), the Amount, the Plan of the referral that earned it, and Details. Credit added shows with a plus sign and credit used with a minus sign.

The section appears once you have a balance or at least one entry. Your free months are a separate thing: they push your billing date back and have their own history on the same page. How to Upgrade Your Plan explains them.
How Is Store Credit Used on My Bills?
Store credit pays your bills on its own, and the card pays only what is left. Credit is taken off after any discount or promo code. It can pay your first plan purchase (at trial checkout, in the onboarding plan step, in the upgrade popup, or when you move from FREE to a paid plan on the Billing page), plan changes (renewals, upgrades and billing cycle switches), and standalone charges such as extra SKUs (SKU packs) and Extra Orders. Whatever you do not use stays in your balance for the next bill. Store credit is in SGD, the currency Indexync bills in.
Example: Alex has SGD 10.00 of store credit and the PRO renewal is SGD 39.00. The invoice shows Store credit applied of SGD 10.00, Alex's card pays SGD 29.00, and the balance goes to SGD 0.00.
Example: Alex adds a SKU pack worth SGD 5.00 and has SGD 12.00 of credit. The pack is paid entirely with credit, nothing is charged to the card, and SGD 7.00 stays in the balance.
When credit pays a whole charge on a saved card, no card payment is made. Your invoice is still issued and your plan or packs still activate.
When you pay on the payment page (where you enter a new card), the card is always charged at least SGD 1.00. Credit pays the rest, and any credit left over stays in your balance. A saved card has no minimum.
Example: Alex has SGD 50.00 of store credit and starts PRO at SGD 39.00 from the trial checkout. The card pays SGD 1.00, credit pays SGD 38.00, and SGD 12.00 stays in the balance.
To stop credit being used, switch off Automatically apply to my bills in the Store credit section. Your balance keeps its credit and nothing is taken from it until you switch it back on.
Example: Alex switches off Automatically apply to my bills. The next renewal is charged in full to the card, and the SGD 39.00 balance stays untouched until Alex switches it back on.
Why Did Switching to Annual Add Store Credit?
When you switch the same plan from monthly to annual billing, your billing day stays the same and the months you have already prepaid count toward the annual price. Indexync credits everything prepaid from the start of your current monthly cycle, in whole months. Months you paid for are credited at the price you paid, and free months you were awarded are counted at the plan's normal monthly price. The annual plan is then charged minus that credit. If the credit is more than the annual price, nothing is charged and the extra goes into your store credit, once per switch.
PRO is SGD 39 a month or SGD 390 a year in these examples.
Example: Alex is on PRO with one awarded free month. Switching to annual credits the paid month at SGD 39 and the free month at the plan's normal SGD 39, SGD 78 in total, so Alex pays SGD 312.
Example: Alex has 11 months already prepaid on PRO. Switching to annual credits SGD 429, which is SGD 39 more than the SGD 390 annual price. Alex pays nothing today, the SGD 39 is added to the store credit, and the annual plan runs for a full year.

On the confirmation screen, Unused PRO time is the prepaid time credited toward the annual price, and Added to your store credit when you switch is the extra. Afterwards the Store credit section lists it with the details "PRO switch to Annual: unused months". Switching from annual back to monthly does not add credit this way. How Does Billing Work in Indexync? explains the two cycles.
How Does Store Credit Show on Invoices, Receipts and Emails?
Every place that shows a charge also shows the credit that paid part of it.
When your store credit balance pays the whole charge, the confirm button reads Upgrade Now with Store Credit or Switch Now with Store Credit. The credit added to your account is not part of the total paid. An upgrade or switch invoice, receipt and email show the new plan at its full price, then an "Unused" line for the old plan (for example Unused PRO time) taking off the time you had already paid for. On a switch that adds credit and spends none of your balance, those two lines cancel out to a total of SGD 0.00, with the added credit under the total. If You Are Billed Through Shopify
Referral credit for Shopify is recorded but cannot be spent yet. The Store credit heading on the Billing page tells you it is coming soon, and it shows no balance or switch. The plan change screens do not show store credit rows.
Troubleshooting
I Was Charged Even Though I Have Store Credit
The card is charged for whatever credit does not cover, so a bill larger than your balance still reaches your card. Two other things keep credit from being used.
- The switch is off. Turn on Automatically apply to my bills and credit is used on your upcoming bills.
- You paid on the payment page. The card is always charged at least SGD 1.00 there, as How Is Store Credit Used on My Bills? explains, and the unused credit stays in your balance.
If your card was charged for another reason, see Why Did My Payment Fail, and What Happens Now?.
My Payment Was Refused After My Credit Changed
If your store credit balance changes between seeing a price and confirming, the payment is refused and a new price is shown. The message opens with "Couldn't start your plan" on a first purchase, "Couldn't change your plan" on a plan change, or "Couldn't add your packs" on a SKU pack. Check the new amount and try again.
My Plan Change Was Refused Without a Saved Card
If a plan change needs a saved card (credit pays it, or a switch charges nothing) and you have none, the change is refused. Add a card with Update Card on the Billing page, then try again. Why Did My Payment Fail, and What Happens Now? covers it.
Adding SKU Packs on a Switch Was Refused
If you add SKU packs while switching to annual and the credit leaves a card charge for the packs, the switch is refused and you are asked to switch first. Switch to annual, then add the packs. How Do I Get More SKUs Without Upgrading My Plan? explains how packs are billed.
FAQ
Can I Turn Off Automatic Use of My Store Credit?
Yes. Switch off Automatically apply to my bills in the Store credit section. Nothing is taken from your balance until you switch it back on.
Can I Withdraw Store Credit as Cash?
No. Store credit pays your Indexync bills. It is not paid out.
What Happens to Store Credit I Do Not Use?
It stays in your balance and is used on your next bill. When a bill is smaller than your balance, only the amount of the bill is taken.
