How Does Billing Work in Indexync?

Category: Subscriptions & BillingLast updated: 9/2/2026

Your billing date controls two things: when Indexync charges your card, and when your monthly order counter resets to zero. You can see both dates any time in Settings > Billing, and you can switch between Monthly and Annual billing yourself whenever you like.

Finding Your Billing Cycle

Open Settings from the sidebar and click the Billing tab. The Current Plan card shows:

  • Billing Cycle: Monthly or Annual.
  • Next Billing Date: the date your next charge will land.

Monthly vs Annual: The Difference

Both billing cycles grant the same plan features. The only differences are payment frequency and price.

  • Monthly: your card is charged on the same day each month. The day is set when you first subscribe.
  • Annual: your card is charged once a year on your billing date. You pay for the full year upfront at a reduced rate.

Choose monthly if you want flexibility to change plans frequently. Choose annual if you've decided on a plan and want 2 months free.

Annual Saves 16.7% (2 Months Free)

Switching to annual billing saves 16.7%, equivalent to 2 months free on every paid plan. The Monthly/Annual toggle inside Manage Subscription labels this "Save 2 months".

PlanMonthly x 12Annual priceYou save
Lite$19 x 12 = $228$190$38 (16.7%, 2 months free)
Pro$39 x 12 = $468$390$78 (16.7%, 2 months free)
Scale$99 x 12 = $1,188$990$198 (16.7%, 2 months free)

How to Switch Billing Cycles

Switching cycles is self-serve. Open Settings > Billing, then click Manage Subscription.

Manage Subscription window top row, showing the Current Plan card, usage meters, and the Monthly/Annual toggle with Annual selected

You have two ways to switch, both inside this window:

  1. Quick switch, same plan. If you're on Monthly, the Current Plan card shows what Annual would cost and a Switch link right there. Click it to jump straight to a confirmation screen for your current plan on the new cycle.
  2. Switch while changing plans. Use the Monthly / Annual toggle at the top to set the cycle, then choose a plan from the list below and continue. The plan list and the detail panel beside it recalculate to the cycle you picked before you confirm anything.

Either way, Indexync shows you the exact charge before you confirm.

Switching from monthly to annual mid-cycle: you're charged the annual amount minus credit for the remaining days on your current monthly cycle. Your billing date may shift slightly. The breakdown appears before you confirm.

Switching from annual to monthly: the change takes effect at the end of your current annual period. Indexync doesn't refund the unused portion of an annual cycle.

Example: you signed up on January 15 on monthly Pro. Your billing date is the 15th of every month. In June you decide annual makes more sense and use the quick switch. You're charged $390 today, minus credit for the unused days in your June cycle. Your next annual charge lands on June 15 next year. Your monthly order counter still resets every 15th.

For what you're charged when switching to a different plan, not just a different cycle, see how to upgrade your plan.

Choosing a Different Plan While You're Here

The same Manage Subscription window is also where you change plans. Plans are listed one per row, with the plan you're on marked Current and, on occasion, another plan marked Recommended based on your usage. Select a row to see its full limits and features in the detail panel beside it.

Manage Subscription plan list with a plan selected and its detail panel, including the Upgrade button

  • Moving to a plan with higher limits shows an Upgrade button and the exact amount due, calculated on the next screen.
  • Moving to a plan with lower limits shows a Downgrade at cycle end button instead. The detail panel tells you exactly when the change takes effect and what you keep until then.

When Your Charge Lands and Counter Resets

Your charge lands on your billing date: the same day every month for Monthly billing, the same day every year for Annual.

The monthly order counter still resets monthly on your billing day, even if you're on annual billing. An annual subscriber with a March 15 billing date sees their order counter reset every 15th, but is only charged once a year on the next March 15.

Example: you're on annual Scale with a March 15 billing date. Your order counter resets on April 15, May 15, June 15, and every 15th after that. The next card charge is March 15 next year.

Your SKU count doesn't reset on any cycle. It's cumulative: remove products to free up SKU capacity. See viewing and troubleshooting plan usage for what counts toward each limit.

Every successful charge generates an invoice and receipt PDF, sent as email attachments. See Invoices & Receipts for what each PDF shows and how to find past records.

Free Months and Your Next Billing Date

If you've been awarded free months, they extend your next billing date and carry over across cycle switches. The Billing tab's Next Billing Date line notes when it's inclusive of free months, so you can always see exactly when your next charge lands. See how to upgrade your plan for more on how free months work during plan changes.

FAQ

Does switching to Annual change what's included in my plan?

No. Monthly and Annual grant the exact same plan features and limits. Only payment frequency and price differ.

If I'm on Annual billing, does my order count still reset every month?

Yes. Your monthly order counter resets every month on your billing day regardless of billing cycle; only the card charge itself is annual.

Can I switch from Annual back to Monthly right away?

You can request the switch any time, but it only takes effect at the end of your current annual period. Indexync doesn't refund the unused portion.

Where do I go to change my billing cycle?

Settings > Billing > Manage Subscription. The same window also lets you change plans.
