How to Cancel or Downgrade Your Plan
To downgrade your Indexync plan, or cancel a paid subscription, open Settings > Billing, click Manage Subscription, select a lower plan, and confirm. The change is scheduled for your next billing date, not applied right away, and you keep your current plan's features until then.
Applies to: all Indexync users on a paid plan (LITE, PRO, or SCALE).
How to schedule a downgrade
- Open Settings from the sidebar and click the Billing tab.

- Click Manage Subscription near the bottom of the tab.
- Click the row for the lower plan you want to move to. A detail panel opens on the right showing what changes:
- Limits going down for that plan, each marked with a minus icon.
- When it takes effect: "Downgrade takes effect on {date}, at your cycle end. You keep {your current plan} until then."
- Click Downgrade at cycle end.

- On the confirmation screen, review the effective date and click Schedule Downgrade on {date} to finish.
Example: Alex is on PRO and downgrades to LITE. The detail panel and the confirmation screen both show the same effective date, at the end of Alex's current cycle. Alex keeps every PRO feature and limit until that date, and nothing changes before then.
Cancelling your paid subscription
There is no separate Cancel Subscription button. To cancel, downgrade to the FREE plan using the same steps above: open Manage Subscription, click the FREE row, and confirm. Your paid plan stays active until your next billing date, and no further charges are made once FREE takes over.
When the change takes effect
Downgrades are never immediate and never charged. There's no refund for the days left in your current cycle either, since you keep your current plan's features and limits until the scheduled date arrives. Once scheduled, the Billing tab shows a banner:
Your plan will change to {plan name} on your next billing date.
Free months and the effective date
If you have free months awarded on your account, they shift when the downgrade takes effect. It kicks in only after those free months are fully used, not at your original billing date, and you keep your current plan's features through the entire free-month period. Your Billing tab keeps a history of every award.

What happens to products over your new plan's limit
Your existing products aren't deleted when a downgrade takes effect. You can still edit them, sync them, and process orders for them. What changes:
- Adding new products is blocked until you're back under your new SKU limit.
- Active and inactive products both count toward the limit; drafts don't.
Example: Alex has 1,140 SKUs on PRO (1,500 limit) and downgrades to LITE (200 SKU limit). At the billing date, the downgrade takes effect. All 1,140 products stay, and nothing is deleted. Adding a 1,141st product is blocked until Alex deletes enough to get under 200. Alex can keep selling, fulfilling, and editing the existing 1,140 products.
If a downgrade takes effect, or a free trial ends, while you have more stores or SKUs than your new plan allows, you're asked to choose which ones to keep. Nothing is deleted without you confirming.
Changed your mind after scheduling a downgrade?
Click Cancel Plan Downgrade. It appears next to the pending-downgrade banner, both on the Billing tab and inside the Manage Subscription modal.

Example: Alex scheduled a downgrade to LITE, then changed course. Alex clicks Cancel Plan Downgrade in the modal. The schedule clears immediately and PRO continues as normal.
If you'd rather move to a different plan than the one you were on, open Manage Subscription and select it directly; there's no need to cancel first.
If you bill through Shopify
The flow starts the same way: open Manage Subscription, select your new plan, and confirm. Shopify processes the change at your next billing cycle, and it appears on your Shopify invoice rather than a separate Indexync one.
Account deletion
Account deletion is permanent and not self-serve. Contact support at hello@indexync.com if you want to delete your account entirely, rather than just moving to a lower plan.
Troubleshooting
I scheduled a downgrade by mistake. Click Cancel Plan Downgrade on the Billing tab or inside Manage Subscription. It reverses the schedule immediately.
My products disappeared after a downgrade. They shouldn't. Downgrading blocks adding new products past your limit, but never deletes existing ones. If products are missing, contact support rather than assuming this is expected.
I'm over my new plan's store or SKU limit and got asked to choose what to keep. This happens when a downgrade takes effect while you're still over the new limit. Nothing is removed until you confirm your choices.
FAQ
Does downgrading take effect immediately?
No. A downgrade is scheduled for your next billing date. You keep your current plan's features and limits until then.
What happens to my products if I have more SKUs than my new plan allows?
They stay. You can still edit, sync, and process orders for them. Only adding new products past the limit is blocked until you're back under it.
Can I undo a scheduled downgrade?
Yes. Click Cancel Plan Downgrade next to the pending-downgrade banner on the Billing tab or inside Manage Subscription. It reverses the schedule right away.
Is cancelling my subscription the same as downgrading to FREE?
Yes. There's no separate cancel button; downgrading to FREE is how you cancel a paid plan.
Do free months I've been awarded change when my downgrade takes effect?
Yes. The downgrade is deferred until after your awarded free months are fully used, not your original billing date.
